Portable Bottle Crusher
A portable device designed to efficiently crush empty water bottles for recycling purposes. In a comically large mug.
This was a fun project that was inspired by my family and the habit of always leaving empty water bottles around the house. I wanted to make a device that would help compact these bottles and make it easier to recycle them, but would not have to be left in a room and pluged into the wall. I also wanted to make it fun and interesting, so I decided to make it in the shape of a comically large mug. This project was a great way for me to practice real application of my skills and dealing with major outside factors that could chagen how the device would work.
- Designed the mug structure using Fusion 360, focusing on both functionality and intuitive assembly.
- Implemented the mechanical components and integrated them with the electronic systems.
- Spent a lot of time researching how to design a wireless device that does not need to be tethered to a power source and provides the freedom to walk around with it.
